The White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities is coordinating a four-day national conference commemorating National HBCU Week. President George W. Bush is scheduled to issue a proclamation honoring America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities designating Sept. 7-13, 2008 as National HBCU Week. Traditionally, Congress also issues a resolution honoring the significant contributions made to our nation’s growth by these institutions.
The conference will kick off with a world premiere performance at the Kennedy Center featuring “The 105 Voices of History,” the first Historically Black Colleges and Universities’ National Choir, hosted by Ms. Phylicia Rashad. This unprecedented partnership with the Kennedy Center brings together the historical, cultural, and inspirational 105 Voices of the nation’s HBCUs. This event is
